Energy Revolution Ventures Welcomes Dr Mark Selby, FREng as a Venture Partner

London, UK. 11^th November 2023. Energy Revolution Ventures has officially welcomed Dr Mark Selby as a Venture Partner.

Dr Selby will sit on ERV’s Technical Committee, joining Professor Paul Shearing, Professor Dan Brett, Professor Chris Howard and Marcus Clover.

Dr. Mark Selby, FREng, has been appointed as a Venture Partner for ERV’s Technical Committee, bringing his extensive experience and expertise to our team. With a background as the Chief Growth Officer at Ceres Power (LON: CWR), Dr. Selby has consistently demonstrated his ability to foster growth and innovation within the organisation. Since joining Ceres Power in 2006, he has progressed through various leadership roles, including Chief Technology Officer and Chief Innovation Officer.  His contributions have been instrumental in the development of the SteelCell® technology, where he led cross-functional teams to tackle complex scientific, engineering and commercialisation challenges.

Prior to Ceres, Dr Selby was a part of the Control & Electronics Department at Ricardo UK Limited (a global strategic, environmental, and engineering consultancy of transport, energy and global climate agendas). He holds degrees in electronics, dynamics, and control systems from the University of Leeds.

In recognition of his significant contributions to fuel cell engineering, he was elected as a Fellow by the Royal Academy of Engineering in October 2019 and was acknowledged as an Icon of Engineering along with two other members of ERV’s Technical Committee (Professor Paul Shearing and Professor Dan Brett).

Dr Selby’s expertise will support ERV in constructing a portfolio of companies developing ground-breaking energy technologies to accelerate the clean energy transition. Simultaneously, ERV is strengthening its robust knowledge hub with Dr Selby’s deep understanding of electrochemistry, complemented by his shared passion for advancing clean energy systems for a low-carbon future.
